Foucault: the more sex, the more knowledge

And the more knowledge, the more power!

Thus at least, one reading of History of Sexuality. Why have we never seen this theory in print before?

the people with the ‘power’ want others to not have so much power…not so much knowledge, so they tell us sex is sinnful…be afraid of it, sex is shameful…..get married…have sex with only one person for the rest of your life ….and then they make it all taboo-like…and make people go to confession…so confess a ‘bad thing.’ it all boils down to a oppression and repression…the give and take…more or less he convinced me, that the whole world needs to be having sex, …if we, as a human race, are going to get anywhere and understand anything about our very existance!!!

  1. Brilliant. 🙂 I actually feel a later quote quite revealing:

“it’s a class that was offered by this young, cute, probably gay professor from berlin. it’s pretty interesting actually.”

That this professor is, according to the student, “probably gay” demonstrates an expression of power-knowledge working through the student’s re-narration of HoS.

  2. Yes, I think it is fact that there is sex at everywhere, it is God,s gift, in every where there is presence of sex and feelings of sex, what ever it may be

  3. Jeremy,

The link mentioned in your post is showing some signs of redundancy. Keep up the good work.
