A French documentary from ARTE France entitled “Foucault par lui-même” is available for download.
There is a five-minute preview, then you have to register to download the full thing.
If anybody has any details about this, please post in the comments. Thanks!

The following is meant not too humorously…. From the “if you want an example of sovereignty” Dept.
If the “sovereign is he who decides on the exception” (Schmitt, 1922) then Vice President Dick Cheney just made a play to act as sovereign–and failed.

Foucault on the set (source).
The one film Foucault was involved in was Moi, Pierre Rivière, ayant égorgé ma mère, ma soeur et mon frère…
Having never seen it, I’m wondering if it is available anywhere?

I don’t know much about the source here (Jewish Daily Forward–they describe themselves as going since 1897 and part of the “din” of the immigrant press that promoted progressive values) but this is a nice appreciation of Richard Rorty.
(See also this obituary by Jürgen Habermas).
